D&A Armory LLC is a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) and Class 3 / SOT holder located at 34990 Royalton Rd, Grafton, OH 44044. Every sale we make complies with all federal, state, and local laws.
What the Law Requires
- Background checks: every firearm transfer includes ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check, completed in person at a licensed dealer.
- Age requirements: 21+ for handguns, 18+ for rifles, shotguns, and ammunition.
- Shipping: firearms ship only between licensed dealers. Out-of-state buyers receive their firearm through an FFL in their home state.
- NFA items: suppressors, SBRs, and other NFA items require ATF Form 4 approval before pickup. See our NFA guide »
Straw Purchases
Buying a firearm on behalf of someone who cannot legally own one — or for anyone other than yourself, except as a legitimate gift — is a federal felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. We have the right to refuse anyone who we suspect to be a straw purchase at any time.
Your Background Check: Proceed, Delay, or Deny
Background checks run through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) — a name-based search. Every check comes back one of three ways:
Proceed
Good to go. Most checks clear within minutes — you finish your paperwork and your firearm goes home with you the same day.
Delay
NICS needs more time to research the check — often a name similar to someone else’s record. We’ll contact you the moment it clears.
Repeated or extended delays? Request an Identity History Summary Check or Challenge at fbi.gov/checks, or enroll in the FBI’s Voluntary Appeal File to help prevent future ones.
Deny
You have the right to request the reason and to challenge it — online at edo.cjis.gov, or by mail: NICS CHAT C-1, FBI CJIS Division, 1000 Custer Hollow Road, Clarksburg, WV 26306.
Include your NICS Transaction Number (ask us — we’ll provide it), full name, and mailing address. Rolled fingerprints are recommended to speed the review. The FBI won’t release deny reasons by phone.
Know Your Local Laws
Firearm, magazine, and ammunition laws vary by state and city, and it is the buyer’s responsibility to know the rules where you live. If we can’t legally ship an item to your jurisdiction, we’ll cancel and refund that portion of your order.
Safe Storage
Store firearms unloaded and locked, separate from ammunition, and out of reach of children and prohibited persons. Ask us about locks, cases, and safes — we’re happy to help you choose.
Youth Handgun Safety Act
As required of federal firearms licensees, we post the ATF’s Youth Handgun Safety Act notice (ATF I 5300.1):
- The misuse of handguns is a leading contributor to juvenile violence and fatalities.
- Safely storing and securing firearms away from children will help prevent the unlawful possession of handguns by juveniles, stop accidents, and save lives.
- Federal law prohibits, except in certain limited circumstances, anyone under 18 years of age from knowingly possessing a handgun, or any person from selling, delivering, or otherwise transferring a handgun to a person under 18.
- A knowing violation of the prohibition against selling, delivering, or otherwise transferring a handgun to a person under the age of 18 is, under certain circumstances, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
